Exploring the Anatomy of Movement

Exploring the Anatomy of Movement

Dance & Movement Workshops in Hamburg

Dance & Movement Workshops in Hamburg

Our bodies are made for movement. Muscles, tissues, joints, and bones, through their structure and interplay, inherently suggest movement — yet we are often unaware of this and move according to an incomplete image of ourselves.

By closely observing biomechanical theory and exploring it through solo and partner exercises as well as short movement sequences, we rediscover our moving bodies with ease and joy.

About the Workshops

Each workshop focuses on a specific theme or area of the body. Through biomechanical theory, experiential exercises, playful partner work, and short movement sequences, we open access to dynamics, coordination, and expression. Inspired by The Axis Syllabus, Feldenkrais, Contact Improvisation, Soft Acrobatics, and Contemporary Dance, we create a space where exploration and dance, analysis and perception come together.

In our workshops, we explore the body’s own suggestions — analytically, experientially, and appreciatively. This process gives rise to lightness, elegance, and expressiveness in movement — new possibilities within a body’s own aesthetic, one that not only looks good but also feels good.

Moving Bodies invites you to unlock your own movement potential. We combine anatomical knowledge with embodied experience: sensing, understanding, experimenting. Step by step, new possibilities of movement unfold—from everyday walking to the freedom of dance. Dance as a celebration of the unique possibilities of the human body.

Each workshop is dedicated to a specific theme or body region. With clear impulses, experiential exercises, and playful partner work, we open pathways to dynamics, coordination, and expression. The human body is made for movement. Muscles, tissues, joints, and bones suggest movements through their very structure—we just need to learn how to listen to them. In our workshops, we explore these innate proposals of the body: analytically, experientially, and with appreciation. In this way, lightness, elegance, and expression emerge in movement—new possibilities within a body’s own aesthetic that not only looks good, but also feels good.

About Us

Jule Fuchs is a dancer, performer, and dance educator. Her academic background in cultural anthropology and educational science shapes her perspective on dance as a cultural practice as well as her understanding of contemporary dance pedagogy. She completed dance training programs in Freiburg, Porto, and Bologna, and is currently in the certification process for The Axis Syllabus.

In her teaching, she values above all the joy and the perception of nourishing, pleasurable movement as a starting point for dance. She uses rhythm as an entryway into new movement sequences and employs improvisation as a central tool for curiously exploring and expanding one’s own movement possibilities.

Christos Litsios is an economist, mediator, and movement researcher. With a background in behavioral economics and negotiation research, he views movement and cooperation as living laboratories for understanding change. In his work, he draws on practices such as Contact Improvisation, contemporary dance, and soft acrobatics.

His work combines analytical precision with somatic awareness, exploring the intersections of movement, perception, and communication—seeking ways to bring thinking and feeling into dialogue.

In our shared research

…we explore movement. Our different backgrounds shape our work and create a dialogue that opens access for people with diverse movement experiences.
